Richard Garriott Interview with FreeGamesList

Richard Garriott was recently in Berlin to speak at Quo Vadis. While he was there, FreeGamesList caught up with him for an interview about Shroud of the Avatar, as well as getting his thoughts on Ultima Online, World of Warcraft, Tabula Rasa, Shroud of the Avatar, the free-to-play model, and even Plants vs. Zombies.

Here’s a taste:

Richard Garriott: Shroud of the Avatar is, first and foremost, going to be a story-driven game, more like a solo-player game. It’s going to have very detailed world interactions, more like Ultima 7. But it’s also going to be a very open world for roles to play like Ultima Online, where unlike most MMOs — where everybody’s a combatant that might have some other skills — in Ultima Online and in Shroud of the Avatar, players will be able to live an entire life as a non-combatant in some of the various roles that will exist that have nothing to do with combat.

Give it a listen, above!
